It was about time for the Federal President to pay a visit to the US President – the two of them have already been in post for a while; Frank-Walter Steinmeier since March 2017, Joe Biden since January 2021. Steinmeier travels a lot around the world; this year alone he has been to Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Kyrgyzstan and especially the islands of the Republic of Cabo Verde.
