He had his first test just a few days after taking up his new position: on the occasion of the second leg of the Champions League between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. Doing justice to the safety interests of train passengers and ensuring safety and order, especially during football matches, will be one of the major challenges for Steffen Quaas be – especially with a view to the European Championship 2024 with the games in Munich. The 56-year-old police director is the new head of the Munich Federal Police Inspectorate, and is therefore responsible for the Hauptbahnhof, Ostbahnhof and Pasinger Bahnhof, three of the four largest train stations in Bavaria. In addition, nine neighboring counties belong to the area of ​​responsibility of the inspection. Steffen Quaas, who comes from Thuringia, has already held various management positions, including as head of the drones and drone defense project group at the Federal Police Headquarters in Potsdam.
