Stefanos Tsitsipas retires against Holger Rune at the Masters

Stefanos Tsitsipas will not have made the displeasure last very long. Probably the victim of arm pain (shoulder? elbow?) which clearly prevented him from serving 100%, the Greek gave up after three games against Holger Rune, during his second group match at the Masters. He was then down 2-1 in the first set. He now has two defeats in the green group. Beaten by Novak Djokovic on Sunday (7-6 [4]6-7 [1]6-3), Rune has a total of one success and one defeat.

This result also has an impact on Tuesday evening’s match which will pit Novak Djokovic against Jannik Sinner (9 p.m., to follow with live commentary). If the Serb wins, he will automatically qualify for the semi-finals, even before his last group match.
