Stefan Rummel has a new position, Blitz Club has been honored. – Munich

For the tenth time, nightclubs, discos and live music venues have been awarded the Federal Government’s “Applause” prize in various areas. The main category ranged from “Best Live Music Program” to “Best Live Music Venues” to “Best Small Venues and Concert Series”, the three special categories from “Awareness” to “Inclusion” to “Sustainability”. A total of 96 awards were presented this year, with a total of around 2.4 million euros in prize money. At the end of October, Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth presented the prizes to the winners in Hanover. Including 13 from Bavaria, three from Munich: Jazz+ in the Seidlvilla, Open Ears eV presents improvisational music in Munich and for “Live Music Program of the Year”. The Managing Director of the Munich Trade Fair, Stefan hype, has been elected to the board of the world trade fair association UFI. The association represents around 50,000 employees from the trade fair industry in more than 85 countries. Rummel, who has headed Messe München together with Reinhard Pfeiffer since 2022, is expected to hold his international position for three years. At the beginning of November, the new UFI board will be presented at the annual meeting in Las Vegas. “I would like to thank UFI for the trust it has placed in me by electing me to the Board of Directors, and I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues from around the world to shape the global exhibition industry of the future,” says Rummel . Before his time at Messe München, he worked at the Bertelsmann Music Group BMG and at Horváth. Rummel studied in Munich, Wiesbaden and New York.
