What exactly is behind Stefan Raab’s (57) comeback plans? Despite the now confirmed show boxing match against Regina Halmich (47) in September, many of Raab’s plans remain cloudy. Is there a huge show around it? Is it a one-time thing from Raab? Is he planning more in the background? How and where will the fight against Halmich be broadcast on TV? According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, the spectacle could take place on a channel that has not yet been born: Raab is currently working on his own TV channel.
According to the report, behind the comeback there is a “major attack on the established TV world”. Stefan Raab is planning his own streaming offer that will focus primarily on smartphone users and mainly broadcast entertainment topics. The offers there should not be produced in the classic 4:3 format, but in the TikTok portrait format 9:16. According to the “Bild” newspaper, several production companies were asked whether these specifications could be implemented to a high standard.
Is the Halmich fight just to build hype?
The fight between Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich on September 14, 2024 could only be the starting signal and the beginning of the new offer. It is estimated that three to four million people could watch the event, which would promise the new platform huge media attention. Further plans are already being considered. The “Bild” newspaper speaks of a planned music show that is a mixture of the “Bundesvision Song Contest” and “The Masked Singer”. The advertising master Niclas M. (18) is also said to play a role in the streaming plans.
At the beginning of the year, after his withdrawal from the production company Brainpool and the associated Raab TV, Raab founded his new company Raab Entertainment together with the former ProSieben/Sat.1 boss Daniel Rosemann (43). According to the report, there are currently no major comeback plans as a presenter: the boxing match with Stefan Raab is only planned to ignite the hype. He will then work behind the cameras again. Halmich also confirmed this in an interview with “Bild”: “Stefan will definitely only come back for this one fight.”
