Stefan Mühlich: How the Bundeswehr trainer prepares students for a defense event – Munich

Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Mühlich was in Afghanistan five times. He is now jointly responsible for the military training of students at the University of the Bundeswehr. And you wonder how you could get these young people “combat ready” quickly in an emergency.

A sunny Wednesday morning at the shooting range, somewhere in a forest west of Munich. Around 30 students from the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich gathered there to train in the use of weapons. There is a bang, the shots echo through the forest. Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Mühlich gets out of the car, the officer on guard steps to the fence, military salute, the edge of his hand to his cap, name, rank. Then the gate opens. For six months, Mühlich has been responsible for the military leadership of the young women and men studying at the Bundeswehr University in Neubiberg. But today is also his first time at the shooting range.
