Stauwehr Oberföhring: Police rescue dog with SUP from the Isar – Munich

A dog fell six meters deep into the Isar at a Munich weir. The animal had previously jumped over the parapet into the river, the fire brigade announced on Saturday. Zico, as the dog is called, then drifted down over the weir on Friday and was uninjured despite the height.

Instead of going to shore, the dog swam to the sluice and stopped on a ledge. He was “after this shock no longer in the mood for further experiments” and stayed there despite calls from his owner. So the owner called 911. The emergency services of the diving group swam to Zico with a stand-up paddle board. “He went quite voluntarily and was chauffeured comfortably to the shore,” said the fire brigade.
