Statutory vaccination: Right wrong – opinion

Comment from

Should there be a statutory corona vaccination for everyone? This question, which a few months ago was considered a political taboo, will soon be voted in the Bundestag. This decision is not just about any spades; it is about the physical integrity; it is a question of whether and how it may be lifted by order of the state and for a salutary purpose. There will be different bills. One will say broadly yes to the compulsory vaccination, another will say broadly no; one or more other bills will say yes and no – namely yes to compulsory vaccination for certain population groups, for example the elderly; and no to the general compulsory vaccination. The parliamentary group discipline is to be lifted, the Chancellor has announced for the government parliamentary groups. The MPs will be allowed to vote as the Basic Law actually provides – “only subject to their conscience”.
