Fewer companies and individuals filed for bankruptcy in June than in the previous month. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the number of insolvencies applied for has fallen by 7.6 percent. The increase of 8.4 percent observed in May compared to the previous month did not continue. The number of consumer bankruptcies has fallen particularly sharply, it said. In April 2022, 19.7 percent fewer private individuals filed for bankruptcy than in the same month last year. According to the Federal Office, however, this is due to special rules due to the corona pandemic.
