The “Star Wars” saga continues: fans can look forward to three new films in the space series. For the first time, a woman will direct. However, it will still be a while before the first film hits the cinemas.

This news should make fans’ hearts beat faster: The “Star Wars” saga continues. Three new films are planned. Each of them will cover different epochs of “Star Wars” history, said the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, on Friday. In addition, each of the three films will have a different director – for the first time, a woman will also direct.

According to the studio, the first new episode will continue the story of Rey, the heroine of the last “Star Wars” trilogy of 2019, played by British actress Daisy Ridley. As the makers of the saga revealed, it should be about Rey’s experiments going to revive the legendary Jedi Order.

Pakistan-born Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is set to direct. She has spent most of her life “meeting real-life heroes overcoming oppressive regimes and fighting impossible odds,” said Obaid-Chinoy, who has won two Oscars for documentaries on violence against women. “I think that’s the heart of Star Wars,” the director explained of her fascination with the space saga.

Director James Mangold is said to be directing another film – his film will deal with the origins of the Jedi order. The third film will be directed by Dave Filoni, who has produced several Star Wars-themed television series, including the highly successful third season of The Mandalorian.

However, fans will have to be patient for the first of the three films: it is not scheduled to hit the cinemas until 2025.

Take a look at the video: cameramen in the picture, modern objects in an antique setting or simply mix-ups: in Hollywood, mistakes often happen during shooting, but some curious scenes even made it into the finished films.
