Star producer Rick Rubin’s book about creativity – culture

From

Johanna Adorjan

When famous music producer Rick Rubin was 14, his throat hurt. Back on the vertebrae. His parents sent him to the doctor, and what he did continues to influence the fortunes of pop music to this day. He diagnosed stress, which was quite unusual back in 1977. What was decisive, however, was what he prescribed for his young patient: meditation. And so Rick Rubin, actually Frederick Jay Rubin, who at that time still lived with his parents in Long Beach, New York, was interested in music, but even more in magic, quite early on a meditation practice, the effect of which is now famous bands benefits. And from now on also the rest of the interested world, because Rick Rubin has written a book: “The Creative Act: A Way of Being” (Canongate, so far only in English, the German translation will be published by OW Barth in April). A book about creativity.
