St. Petersburg – Fraport puts activity to rest – economy

Against the background of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the airport operator Fraport is suspending its business activities in St. Petersburg. In addition to the 25 percent stake in the operating company of Pulkovo Airport, Fraport owns an asset there, according to the MDax group. This amounts to a low three-digit million euro amount, said a company spokesman. Fraport wants to do everything to get this money back. “Anything else would mean giving Russia money or assets in this situation.” A sale of the participation is currently contractually excluded. The company has held shares in the airport company in St. Petersburg since 2009.
