On Sunday, a kite surfer had a fatal accident off the popular beach of St. Peter-Ording in the North Sea. The 28-year-old tried to escape to the bank, but attempts at resuscitation by eyewitnesses were unsuccessful.

A 28-year-old kite surfer from Hamburg was in front of the beach on Sunday St. Peter-Ording fatal accident. The woman apparently lost control of her board and initially tried to swim to shore under her own power, without a board, the police said on Monday.

St. Peter Ording: Kite surfer lost consciousness before reaching the shore

Before reaching the beach, however, she lost consciousness and floated in the water for several minutes. Passers-by informed the rescue workers and immediately began resuscitation, which was then continued by the rescue workers. The Hamburg woman was taken to a hospital by helicopter. She later died there.
