St. Nikolaus, one of Munich’s oldest churches, is in danger of collapsing – Munich

The small church in Englschalking, one of the oldest Catholic churches in Munich, urgently needs to be renovated. But the archdiocese has no money left. That is why the volunteers have to help themselves.

Not everything that comes from above is good. The stone crumbs, for example. They could have done without them in St. Nikolaus. As more and more trickled from the ceiling onto the white cloth of the altar, it became clear: It is a sign. From the very top, the ridge turret, a small tower with a painted sundial that rises above the sanctuary and, in terms of the church, is one of the oldest to be found in Munich.
