Luckily, there is another way to be cold than grey, wet or slushy. Last weekend, the cold was finally colorful and sweet again and came as ice cream in the bag like these two ladies in the Glockenbachviertel. But it was high time that spring showed up, even if it was initially limited to Saturday for practice purposes. With lots of sun, blue skies and a warm 18 degrees, he visibly delighted the winter-weary people not only in Munich’s ice cream parlors, but also at all of the city’s other outdoor hotspots. There was also a sunny show run on the Isar, in the English Garden or on the flight paths to the large beer gardens. But the spoilsport comes as a weather report. It won’t be really fun in the next few days, but only Tuesday and Wednesday can be labeled as really nice. What the heck: It can actually only be a matter of weeks until spring really comes. The strong beer season may also help some people through this dry spell.
