What could be better than the feeling of a clean and tidy home? The journey there is probably one of very few people’s favorite pastimes. With the following five tools, spring cleaning is much easier.
1. Steam cleaner
It doesn’t always have to be a chemical weapon to combat stubborn dirt. In many cases steam also helps. It also penetrates into corners that are difficult to reach with a rag. The hot steam also gently kills unwanted bacteria and viruses. Steam cleaners come in different designs that are suitable for different applications. The classic mop is now also available as a steam version. The water tank is integrated, eliminating the hassle of wringing and carrying buckets. Having two different devices for surfaces and floors can be cumbersome. If you prefer to use just one for both tasks, you can use the Kärcher steam cleaner SC 4. Floor cleaning works quickly with this device thanks to the large tank. Because the SC 4 is compact and equipped with a hand cleaner, it is also a good all-rounder for spring cleaning. However, the combination device costs almost 200 euros.

Even though steam cleaners do not use chemicals and therefore clean more gently, caution should always be exercised when handling hot steam. There is a risk of scalding.
2. Window vacuum
After the rainy autumn and winter months, the view through the window can sometimes be clouded. To get a clear view again, the windows can be cleaned with water, a little washing-up liquid and a cloth. But there is also a more convenient way – with a window vacuum. First the window is wiped with a damp cloth, then the window vacuum removes dirt and liquid. The advantage: fewer streaks on the glass. Window cleaning becomes even more convenient with a window robot. These devices are simply placed on the window, where they then vacuum and take over the cleaning. However, the robots are also significantly more expensive and only work if there is a power outlet nearby. The most popular device in this category on Amazon is currently priced at 135 euros.

3. Electric brush
One of the most strenuous tasks in spring cleaning is scrubbing dirty or calcified surfaces. With the right tools, this backbreaking job is no longer necessary. An electric brush makes regular cleaning of the bathroom easier, but it also quickly removes other stubborn dirt. Different attachments for different areas of application are important. 4. Air purifier
An air purifier does not directly help with spring cleaning, but is a worthwhile purchase at this time of year, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers. The devices clean the air by removing dust, viruses and, above all, pollen from the air. The different price ranges arise primarily from how many cubic meters of air can be cleaned per hour; some can also emit scents. If you want to bring the air purifier into your bedroom, you should choose a device that is as quiet as possible. A Suntec air purifier is available on Ebay, for example. 5. Vacuum-mopping robot
Thoroughly cleaning the floors is something that takes a lot of time and effort, not just during spring cleaning, but also in everyday life. A vacuum-mopping robot takes on two work steps in one, and does so in a significantly shorter time. Devices with an automatic emptying station are particularly practical, as you no longer have to think about cleaning the floor apart from emptying the station. However, these models are significantly more expensive. A Yeedi Cube from Ecovacs is available on Ebay for just under 530 euros. The emptying station only needs to be cleaned every 60 days.

If this is too expensive for you, you can save money by not using automatic emptying. This model is significantly cheaper. The Honiture vacuum robot with wiping function currently costs 199 euros on Amazon. The device takes care of vacuuming and wiping, but the collected items then have to be disposed of manually.
