Nothing worked with the streaming provider Spotify: users could no longer log in. The company began investigating the cause.

The streaming provider Spotify was affected by a major disruption that lasted for hours on Tuesday evening. The Swedish company announced this on its Twitter channel. A number of users on social networks had previously complained about problems logging in.

It was therefore not possible for customers to log into the Spotify accounts. “Something is wrong and we’re investigating,” the music streaming provider said.

The fault was rectified around three hours after the first error messages appeared. “Now it looks much better,” it said on the Spotify Twitter channel. The company referred to its support page, should there still be problems with individual users. The cause of the service disruption, which lasted several hours, is still not known.

From 7:00 p.m., the portal alle disturbances.de also showed tens of thousands of reports about disruptions to the service. Spotify is the world’s largest music streaming provider in terms of the number of users. According to their own statements, there are more than 400 million. According to the company, the catalog includes more than 82 million music titles and 3.6 million podcasts. The group is repeatedly confronted with accusations that artists are not sufficiently remunerated.
