Sports review in the district of Munich – silver boy Lukas Dauser – district of Munich

The performances of gymnasts on their equipment are called exercises, even if the athletes present the sequence of maximum difficulties in perfection. Lukas Dauer repeated his exercise on parallel bars countless times before he mastered it perfectly this summer in Tokyo. He has been planning and practicing since 2016, injured himself twice in between and had to take breaks, trained again, continued to refine the elements – for the 2020 Olympics. Then the games were postponed, which did not throw the 28-year-old from TSV Unterhaching out of Holmengasse . On August 3, he won the silver medal on parallel bars at the Ariake Gymnastics Center in Tokyo.

He later reports that in the two days before the competition, i.e. within 48 hours, he ran this exercise, which catapulted him onto the Olympic podium, 500 times in his head like a movie. Every handstand, every twist, always the finish, even while sleeping. A mental achievement. Dauser programmed his body and was rewarded with the long-awaited medal. Gold went to the Chinese Zou Jingyuan.

For Dauser, who comes from Glonn in the district of Ebersberg and now trains at the base of the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) in Halle, 2021 was an extraordinarily successful year overall. He became German champion in the all-around competition and won bronze at the European championships, also on parallel bars. The Olympic medal, which made him the second silver boy in the Unterhachingen gymnastics group nine years after Marcel Nguyen, naturally topped everything. The pictures of the cheering athlete, who was standing high on the parallel bars, with the German flag around his muscular shoulders and the Olympic rings in the background went around the world. The photo now adorns his new autograph cards. Fan mail with requests for a signature from the master of the Holme then arrived in abundance in Unterhachinger Utzweg, where the TSV athletes have their training facility and the club has its office. But SV Halle is also the right address if you want an autograph card.
