More than 15 million sperm arrive in Salmünster on a May day in 2021. A dog barks in the house, as it always does when the bell rings. A messenger brings a package that looks like a large garbage can with a round lid. Deep inside, chilled in dry ice, a tube of semen. Sarah Günther no longer has to read the instructions on how to use the tube and the associated syringe. She has had two failed attempts and one that ended in miscarriage.
