According to police, dozens of firearms were stolen from an unguarded train. The background is still unclear.

Several perpetrators took dozens of semi-automatic weapons from a transport train Stole freight yard near Maschen. How the perpetrators knew about the unguarded train and the background to the crime is now being investigated.

A spokesman for the Hanover Federal Police confirmed corresponding media reports to the German Press Agency on Thursday evening. The alleged perpetrators struck on March 20th at the train station near Hamburg.

Police are investigating

According to the federal police, special forces have now arrested two suspects. The federal police were also able to seize the weapons. The background to the crime is still largely unknown.

The responsible Hanover Federal Police Department and the Lüneburg public prosecutor’s office want to provide details about the incident south of Hamburg this Friday. According to media reports, the freight train was not a military transport and was unguarded.
