Spectacular real-time teaser featuring Unreal Engine 5: sci-fi horror game impresses

Pulsatrix Studios have released a first clip from the upcoming game “Project AIDA”. In this, the player wanders through an impressive, atmospheric horror environment. The great graphics can apparently be run in real time on current hardware.

Demo projects from the Unreal Engine 5 appear again and again on the Internet, which show impressive graphics and thus give an outlook on future games. In most cases, however, the corresponding projects are only built for demonstration purposes and cannot be played by yourself. However, a clip recently released by Pulsatrix Studios is different: it shows a handsome horror environment that is said to come from an upcoming title by the developer.

Project AIDA – Horror in the Unreal Engine

To date, Brazil-based Pulsatrix Studios has only released one game: Den Horror title “Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel”. This was well received with around 600 reviews – of which a proud 88 percent were positive – and the developers apparently want to build on this success. So the new game, dubbed “Project AIDA”, stays true to the genre. According to the developers, it is a sci-fi horror game, with the clip posted on Youtube showing more horror than sci-fi.

In the almost two-minute video, the player walks through a narrow room with a canal running in the middle. As usual for a horror game, the environment is pretty run-down: everything is dripping with dirt and grime, and the Unreal Engine 5 creates a spectacular, atmospheric mood. The sound design, with flickering lights and distant, menacing noises, does the rest. Incidentally, according to the developers, the scene shown is a real-time recording, so the graphics are already running with the latest hardware.

Matching: Next-gen graphics with Unreal Engine 5.1: Fortnite, of all things, is the first game

However, it is not known exactly which hardware is involved. In addition, it is unfortunately also unclear when players can try Project AIDA themselves. There is currently no release date. For the developer’s last game, there was a first demo almost two years before it was released. So maybe you can soon immerse yourself in the scenery shown – and maybe the graphics will be even more impressive by then, thanks to the new Unreal Engine 5.1.
