The Chancellor’s party has walled itself in in defiance. The majority have no interest in real knowledge. So it will be difficult to get re-elected. The turnaround in Russia policy alone gives hope.
EThe “biggest domestic political crisis” – said SPD leader Klingbeil about SPD-governed Germany – has to be overcome, and what can the Chancellor’s party come up with? Just old answers. As if this crisis didn’t even exist. Or as if it were just a useful vehicle for blanket demands for an even stronger state. Instead of recognizing that the budget crisis also offers the opportunity for a course correction.
SPD people call this staying the course. Look how good our answers have always been, because they still fit now. As an observer and citizen of this country, you have to come to the conclusion: This is defiance.
