Who is Carsten Schneider?

Create equal living conditions
As the representative for the East, he has to deal with a larger package of tasks. He has to coordinate a lot in the eastern German states – such as the various political issues. One of its tasks is to ensure in all decisions of the federal government that the special interests of the people in the new federal states are adequately taken into account.
After reunification, basic goals are, for example, the coming to terms with the SED dictatorship, but above all the creation of equal living conditions throughout Germany and a long-term and secure financial perspective for the rebuilding of the East. The demographic changes and the financial leeway in the new federal states also remain important issues for the Eastern Commissioner.
