SPD, Greens and FDP: traffic light probes for coalition negotiations

Status: October 15, 2021 1:14 p.m.

The leaders of the SPD, Greens and FDP recommend their parties to start coalition negotiations for a joint federal government. The joint exploratory paper will now be presented to the party committees.

The negotiators of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP are striving for coalition talks to form a joint federal government. “We are convinced that we can conclude an ambitious and sustainable coalition agreement,” said a joint paper by the three parties on the results of the explorations that was published today. A government could be formed in Germany to modernize the country, says SPD Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz in the statements following the explorations.

In the case of the Greens, a small party congress is supposed to deal with the admission, in the case of the FDP party committees.
