The Gartenbaukino on the Wiener Ring is filled to the last seat. “Sparta”, the new film by Ulrich Seidl, has its Austrian premiere at the Viennale. At the beginning, the star director enters the stage to much applause and thanks festival director Eva Sangiorgi for her “courage” to show the film, before mentioning again the “various turbulences” of recent times. Among other things, this has meant that the film has not yet found a distributor in Germany and Austria.
