A customer received a letter from Sparkasse Mittelfranken-Süd about a donation to the AfD. According to several media outlets, it said that the recipient of the payment had a right-wing extremist orientation and that the savings bank did not accept such payments. A spokesman for the Sparkasse in Roth confirmed on Wednesday that such a message had been sent to the customer. This “is based on a human error on our part and we particularly regret the perceived impact”. The bank has already apologized to the affected customer.
The savings bank emphasized: “As a public credit institution, we provide all social groups and people, regardless of their political goals, with access to credit services.” Other things only apply to parties and associations that have been legally determined to be unconstitutional. “A payment to the AfD is therefore possible.”
