Spanish motorcyclist Carles Falcon dies at the age of 45 after suffering cardiac arrest following a fall

The TwinTrail team rider fell heavily during the second stage of the Dakar, held in Saudi Arabia, just fifteen kilometers from the finish. He suffered in particular from cerebral edema and several fractures (ribs, clavicle, wrist).

Following the fall, he suffered a cardiac arrest and was placed in intensive care. After a few days in Riyadh hospital, Carles Falcon was repatriated to Spain. “This Monday, January 14, Carles left. He was a smiling person, always active, who passionately enjoyed everything he did, especially on a motorcycle. He left doing what he dreamed of, competing in the Dakar, his team said in a press release. Following the accident Twintrail decided to leave the Dakar.

According to the Spanish newspaper A.S., Carles Falcon was a computer engineer, but also a motorcycle instructor and motorcycle travel guide. He competed in his first Dakar in 2022. “He taught with patience, energy and happiness, so that everyone had fun on a motorcycle,” said the team. This is what he left us. »
