Spain’s politics are now divided in ways that are increasingly damaging to the country and society. The traditional divide between left and right, i.e. two blocs, one of which forms the government and the other a strong opposition: that was once a workable model. But now it has turned into a trench war in which the boundaries of contempt and hatred are being crossed.
