In July 2023, the decision on charges was made in Spacey’s then adopted home of England. Kevin Spacey responded sarcastically to Warner’s announcement. “I’m honored to star in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years. I hope the Academy recognizes the great performances of the lesser-known actors,” he said via a spokesperson via Variety .
