After SpaceX’s rocket systems exploded during the last two test launches, a third attempt is scheduled to be launched today – with a slight delay.

The third one The test start of the largest rocket system ever built has been postponed slightly. Rocket operator SpaceX wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that boats would first have to be removed from the restricted area in the Gulf of Mexico. The start is now scheduled for 2:10 p.m. German time, previously it was planned for 1 p.m. Further postponements were not initially ruled out.

The unmanned “Starship” is scheduled to take off from SpaceX’s spaceport in the US state of Texas. A test flight lasting around one hour is planned, after which the two rocket stages will land in a controlled manner in the sea.

During a first test last April, the entire rocket system exploded after just a few minutes. During a second test in November, the two rocket stages separated and the upper one continued to fly for a while, but shortly afterwards both exploded separately.
