Space travel: On the trail of space debris – observatory inaugurated

Metal parts, solar panels, electrical circuit boards – space is filling up with more and more space debris. collisions are imminent. A state-of-the-art observatory collects data to prevent accidents.

In the future, flying debris in space should be localized as quickly and precisely as possible, thus avoiding the risk of collisions. The Johannes Kepler Observatory was inaugurated on Wednesday in Empfingen (Freudenstadt district).
