Space travel: German company Hookie designs motorcycles for the moon

The Dresden motorcycle manufacturer Hookie has an eye on space. The company has developed a drivable prototype for a two-wheeled lunar research vehicle. The special thing about it: The vehicle with the name Tardigrade is much lighter than a traditional moon buggy. The space bike is named after the tardigrade, a resilient animal that can withstand harsh space conditions. The study is based on the digital design by Russian artist Andrew Fabishevskiy. The motorcycle has space for an astronaut and various types of equipment. With a speed limit of 15 km / h, it has a battery range of almost 110 km. A combination of ultra-light materials and interchangeable airless tire pieces enables the space crew to overcome any obstacle on their mission. It is unclear whether the tardigrad will ever be used. There is still no contract with a space agency. But in the age of private space travel, that moment could come sooner than expected.
