South Koreans and Big Companies Are Coming to the Metaverse Soon

South Koreans and big companies in an increasing number of countries have begun to embrace and integrate the Metaverse into their daily lives in unexpected new ways.

Recently, the two major retailers in the country just released the element Metaverse and AI to buyers to improve their shopping experience.

The GS Shop launched home shopping through Metaverse on Nov. 16, showing the inner workings of a food factory. Its purpose is to assure customers of the quality of facilities and food to be sold.

In this way, customers with an Augmented Reality (AR) device similar to the Meta touch glove can visit the facility in a virtual world to see the state of their food production.

DeSpread co-founder Jason Ye noted the interest in companies joining Metaverse in Korea, “It seems like every company is diving into Metaverse and Play to Earn these days.”

“Korea has a lot of intellectual property. If you can combine those IPs with great content. You can build a great business model. with compelling content as the basis for entering the Metaverse.”

Metaverse and AI (artificial intelligence) avatars are emerging in many industries. This includes retail, finance and even public services.

And the avatar even has its own Instagram account, making it highly likely that Lotte will integrate Lucy with a virtual store on Metaverse.

The adoption of virtual reality has also expanded to the government sector. The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Nov. 6 that it plans to build a platform. Metaverse by 2023
