Sound of Bavaria Now: Bavaria sounds so diverse and courageous – Munich

At the latest, when Blushy AM takes the stage, it is clear that in music there is no longer any distinction as to where a band comes from. That a scene is not only defined by its origin. And that artists support each other even if their rehearsal rooms are more than 100 kilometers apart.

While the “Sound of Munich Now” is celebrated in the Festwerk at Hansa39, four bands and artists in the Kranhalle show what the “Sound of Bavaria Now” sounds like. Diverse. Modern. And far from the stereotypical brass band, even when singing in dialect. But first things first. Ria Reiser comes from Mainburg, now calls herself RiA as an artist and is reminiscent of a female artist Dense & poignant-One-woman show with strong beats accompanied by accordion. She also sings in Lower Bavarian slang, which is fascinating due to the effortless flow. For her song “Schwungscheim United” RiA calls for a collective “Booty Bounce” – and almost everyone follows her circling hip choreo. When RiA jumps into the audience during the song and everyone dances to the rhythm, it feels like a huge flash mob.

At Marlin Beach A feel-good atmosphere immediately arises. Atmospheric riffs and clear rhythm are reminiscent of indie pop from the eighties, but less shrill with a relaxed flow. Marlin Beach definitely has what it takes to become the next favorite boy band with glossy posters hanging on bedroom walls.

Peter from Mozartstrasse and his drummer Johannes fill the stage with a completely different energy. Their sound is a nostalgic, celebratory memory of youth in the noughties and appeals to the young rebels in the audience through the mix of rock and rap. Peter from Mozartstrasse performs the song “24 Hours” with Blushy AM. They sing about anger, the emotional chaos of first love, dead Tamagotchis and all-nighters – even if one celebrates it in Regensburg and the other in Munich. Music connects them, which is why they’re going on tour in Bavaria together soon – and are also taking Marlin Beach with them. How nice.

But before that they celebrated the end of the evening with SILSAN. Fine techno with a deep flow, neither monotonous nor simple. The afterparty transformed the Kranhalle into a dark, lightning-filled techno club.
