Sophie Passmann has decided to create a new kind of literary show. What’s really new is that she sells the usual gibberish about books as rebellion.

Sophie Passmann is excited when she steps out of the elevator. Because she has big plans: she has decided to create a new kind of literary show. One that really talks about books in a way that gets everyone involved. She wants to work with great authors in her new ARD talk show Studio Orange discussing novels “as if we were normal people”, patriarchy, boredom and at the same time slaying the dragon. The dragon in this case is… the feuilleton. Hissing, misogynistic and often simply mean, it guards the true treasure: literature and the conversation about it. At least that’s what Sophie Passmann thinks. But Passmann wants – and will! – with her two squires Helene Hegemann and Dimitrij Schaad take up the fight and be victorious and then distribute the treasure – the literature – to the common people, as it should be. Take that, Adorno! expellarmus!
