Sophia Thomalla and Alexander Zverev presented themselves as the new dream couple on the red carpet of a donation gala with an emphasis on casual, joking and flirting.

Almost two months ago, Sophia Thomalla and Alexander Zverev made their love public. Since then, the duo has shown themselves to be regularly (and) totally in love with their social channels. Now the dream couple of entertainment and top-class sport has made a joint appearance on a red carpet – and in doing so has been decidedly casual, joking and teasing.

A Christmas present for Sophia Thomalla? “I haven’t got anything yet …”, says Alexander Zverev

She was “tested, recovered, vaccinated, showered and made up,” assured the actress and presenter in a humorous short interview before the TV donation gala “A Heart for Children” (live on ZDF from 8:15 pm). In view of the current crisis situation in the corona pandemic, she could “consider herself lucky as it was professionally and privately” and emphasized that not everyone is so lucky. “It’s nice to be there for the first time,” said Zverev, referring to the event. In the past year, the tennis ace could not take part. “It is all the better that we are here together now,” said the 24-year-old.

When asked about their Christmas plans, the couple was curt. “Always this pressure to celebrate with the family – that always leads to arguments,” said Thomalla. There should still be gifts: “The expectations are already there,” joked the 32-year-old. Anything else would leave her mother, the well-known actress Simone Thomalla, confused. Does Zverev already have a gift idea for girlfriend Sophia? “I haven’t got anything yet …”, the athlete kept a low profile. For her birthday a few weeks ago, however, there was a present, assured Zverev. “Jewelry,” said Thomalla in a nutshell, which apparently went down well: “We can stay together,” she said.

The annual benefit gala will be broadcast live. In total, more than 80 prominent guests take donation calls. The actor Hardy Krüger Jr. is also expected. as well as the Greens chairwoman Annalena Baerbock. The designated Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is to give the laudation for the honorary award at the television show. Due to the corona pandemic, the donation gala takes place without an audience in the hall. The campaign started by the “Bild” newspaper has been around since 1978. Last year, around 26 million euros were raised.
