Some 2,500 students remotely until the end of the week

No casualties. Some 2,500 students will have to follow their courses remotely from Thursday after a fire of undetermined origin which occurred during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in an amphitheater of the HEC Paris business school, based in Yvelines , we learned from the school. The school confirmed that there were no casualties in the fire.

“The fire, of undetermined origin, broke out a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Blondeau amphitheater, which was no longer occupied. The alerts were given and the firefighters intervened very quickly,” said HEC.

“The Blondeau amphitheater is largely destroyed. On the other hand, the rest of the study building (building T) is not affected,” according to the school, which adds that “the courses scheduled in building T will be canceled on Wednesday October 4 and will go online on Thursday 5 and Friday 6. All other courses in other buildings are maintained.” The transition to distance learning concerns “2,500 students, with 110 online courses over two days”, underlined HEC.
