Solutions against the traffic collapse in the region – Ebersberg

Working together to tackle the ever-increasing traffic problems in the east of Munich is the idea behind the “Alliance B 304” launched by the mayor of Ebersberg, Ulrich Proske (independent). On Tuesday evening, the heads of town hall of the neighboring communities along the main road – from Vaterstetten to Wasserburg – were able to present their requests to the Bavarian Ministry of Transport. The day after the meeting with Minister of State Christian Bernreiter (CSU), Proske speaks of a small milestone that has now been reached.

The core of the “Allianz B 304” is to bundle the traffic problems of the individual municipalities and to develop a large overall concept from them. “We want the best and most sustainable solution for the region,” says Proske. The focus is not only on the main road, but on all traffic in Ebersberg and its neighboring districts. “After all, everything is connected to everything else for us,” said the Ebersberg town hall chief. If, for example, the A 94 is tight, you can feel it in the district town. The mayors and district administrators as well as the local federal and state parliamentarians now wanted to draw attention to this problem during a first meeting in the state ministry. “We first explained what we actually want,” says Proske.

The siding at Grafing and the second station in Ebersberg are on the agenda

In doing so, they certainly found open ears, also with regard to the improvement of rail transport in the region. According to Proske, the information was received that the electrification of the train route from Ebersberg to Wasserburg continued to have the highest priority. In Ebersberg, it is hoped that more travelers will switch from cars to trains, thereby relieving the roads. The same applies to a siding on the previously single-track route between Grafing station and Ebersberg and a second station in Ebersberg. Both projects are being seriously pursued, according to the promise from the ministry to the B 304 mayor.

“We have achieved our goal,” says initiator Ulrich Proske. In addition to at least one other meeting in the Munich authority, supra-local planning by the affected municipalities is now to start. The respective problems and concerns should finally be poured into an overall concept for improving the traffic situation.

And the ministry also draws a very positive balance the day after the meeting: “Only together and with all modes of transport can we solve the traffic challenges, this also applies to the B 304,” Christian Bernreiter is quoted as saying in a press release. The federal highway is a nationally important traffic axis, which, however, represents an enormous burden for the residents. “It is important to me that all the municipalities involved and those responsible for the various modes of transport sit together at one table and look for solutions to the region’s transport challenges,” says the Minister of State. A working group is now to determine what these could look like.
