The Federal Fiscal Court (BFH) as Germany’s highest financial court has to decide on the solidarity surcharge: Is the tax levy still constitutional or not? This is the question in the dispute (Az. IX R 15/20), which has come to a head in an unusual way in the past few days – and will probably only be finally decided in Karlsruhe before the Federal Constitutional Court.
