Solid state batteries: THE solution?

We know: what is expensive in an electrified car are the batteries. And at Nissan, we are determined to reduce these costs. First by offering more compact, lighter and more standardized electrical units. Then using solid state batteries. The latter have the advantage of containing significantly less precious metals.

An ambitious goal

It is the brand’s vice-president himself who affirms: “The use of solid-state batteries is essential and Nissan is already developing materials that do not use such expensive precious metals. . In the future, this will be a major factor in reducing costs”. Cheaper batteries, lighter engines and standardized models: Nissan aims to sell its battery-powered models at the same price as internal combustion engines.
