Solana Spaces tweeted the news on Feb. 21, revealing a message from founder Vibhu Norby explaining the reasons behind the store’s closure.

Norby, who founded Solana Spaces at the start of 2022, described the company as having reached a “turning point” and is preparing to shift its investment focus to “DRiP,” the company’s new NFT artwork token airdrop platform.

“While our store handles between 500 and 1,000 customers a week, DRiP has the same number of customers every day,” Norby said, explaining the decision.

Both stores only recently officially opened in late July and August in New York and Miami respectively.

The Solana-themed store allows customers to participate in everything from self-wallet tutorials, earning rewards, making purchases, and attending events.

Norby stated in his letter that only 75,000 people walked into the store over the seven months it was open.
