After temporarily blocking searches for Taylor Swift, the online platform X has now lifted it again.

Elon Musk’s online platform X blocked searches for the name of the US singer at the weekend Taylor Swift lifted again. The trigger for the block was fake pornographic images of Swift that were circulating on X, among others. Completely paralyzing the search for the pop star was a temporary stopgap for the platform. Now, X manager Joe Benarroch told the financial service Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal that they would keep an eye on attempts to continue publishing the images.

Over the weekend, a search for “Taylor Swift” on the platform simply said: “Something went wrong. Try loading it again.” The ban was all the more inconvenient for and videos of the pair after the game.

Tech billionaire Musk laid off more than half of his employees after buying Twitter in autumn 2022. Teams that were responsible for the security of the platform and the fight against prohibited content were very badly affected by the dismantling.
