Sober and dark … The jersey of the XV of France for the World Cup unveiled

Sobriety. This is the first word that comes to mind when seeing the outfit of the XV of France for the next World Cup at home. The images were unveiled on Thursday by equipment manufacturer Le Coq Sportif, five months before the start of the competition, which will run from September 8 to October 28. The jersey will be blue, the shorts white and the socks red.

The Federation (FFR) boasts “a new blue, the blue France, that of our flag”. Some evil spirits, not uncommon on Twitter, observed that the blue in question was still very dark, and was almost reminiscent of the Scotland jersey.

“The legacy of historic jerseys”

But the reading of the tunic proposed by the FFR in his press release is much deeper: “This new shade gives elegance and depth to this statutory jersey, where the cobalt blue, present in touches, recalls the heritage of historic jerseys”.

This will be truly historic if Fabien Galthié’s team goes after their dreams, where reason ends, on October 28 at the Stade de France.
