Snow and squalls expected in Bavaria – Bavaria

The sunny weekend is followed by wet and cooler weather at the start of the week in Bavaria. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) forecast, a cold front coming from the north will bring thunderstorms and squalls – slippery conditions and snow can also be expected in the Alps. With cloudy skies, it is expected to rain often in the middle and south of the Free State from midday on Monday, and there will be thunderstorms south of the Danube.

From the evening onwards, wind gusts can reach speeds of up to 70, in the mountains up to 90 and on the peaks of the Alps and the Bavarian Forest up to 100 kilometers per hour. Hail is also not ruled out. Temperatures range from 13 degrees in the northern low mountain ranges to 20 degrees in Chiemgau.

According to the meteorologists, it will also be wet and windy on Tuesday night, with up to five centimeters of fresh snow expected to fall above 1,000 meters at one to seven degrees. This weather is expected to continue throughout the day on Tuesday, with sunny periods also expected. In the Fichtelgebirge the thermometer is only supposed to show six degrees, on the Danube it is 13 degrees.

Lots of clouds, showers and isolated thunderstorms can also be expected in the middle of the week and on Thursday night; it can snow and become slippery in the mountains.
