Snow and slippery roads led to accidents in Bavaria at the weekend. The drivers drove very carefully, not much had happened despite the weather, said a spokesman for the Schwaben Nord police on Sunday. Some cars did slip, but the officers of the Upper Bavaria South police were sometimes even surprised at how little was going on on the streets: “We have few accidents at the moment,” said a spokesman on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Lower Franconian police shared the impression: Even in the north of the Free State there were only a few accidents due to the weather. In the district of Kitzingen, lightning ice skidded a 24-year-old’s car on a bridge on Sunday morning. The woman was uninjured and the car was totally damaged.
On Saturday two cars collided head-on in Middle Franconia on a slippery road. A 34-year-old car driver skidded and oncoming traffic. Your car collided with that of a 56-year-old on Bundesstraße 2 near Heroldsberg. The two drivers and the woman’s 58-year-old co-driver suffered moderate to severe injuries. Due to improper speed and snow conditions, the woman’s car overturned on Saturday in the Straubing-Bogen district on the route between Perkam and Hirschling. The 19-year-old driver was taken to a hospital.
Even with summer tires, a driver slipped into the opposite lane in Grafenau, Lower Bavaria, and collided with a truck. Nobody was injured in the collision. But the man expects a fine for incorrect tires. Three accidents in seven minutes happened in Swabia on Autobahn 7 near Illertissen. On Sunday night, three cars independently of one another skidded due to improper speed on the A 7 and crashed into crash barriers and wind protection fences. Nobody was injured in the accidents.
