Great honor for Snoop Dogg and Gloria Estefan: The two different artists are inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Rapper Snoop Dog (51) and singer Gloria Estefan (65) will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at an official gala on June 15 in New York. This was announced by those responsible on the organization’s website. In addition to the rapper and the singer, this honor is also given to singer-songwriter Teddy Riley (55), singer Sade Adu (64), songwriter Liz Rose (65), producer Glen Ballard (69) and musician Jeff Lynne.

Estefan, who comes from Cuba, has already received eight Grammy awards and can look back on a career spanning around 50 years. Her best-known songs include “Anything For You”, “Cuts Both Ways” and “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” from the late 80s. The world hit “Let’s Get Loud”, sung by Jennifer Lopez (53), also came from her pen.

Snoop Dogg has been an integral part of the US hip-hop scene for decades. “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, “Young, Wild & Free” and “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” are just some of the most important songs he has written. Snoop Dogg celebrated his international breakthrough in the early 1990s alongside his rap colleague Dr. Dre (57). Most recently, the Californian worked alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem (50), Mary J. Blidge (52) and Kendrick Lamar (35) attracted worldwide attention at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show.
