SNCF controllers on strike, Macron-Biden state dinner and Twitter suspend Kanye West

Did you miss the news this early morning? We’ve put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

SNCF controllers on strike all weekend, 60% of TGVs canceled

We will have to show patience in French stations from this Friday. The weekend promises to be complicated due to a strike launched by a collective of controllers. The SNCF was forced to cancel 60% of its TGV and Intercités from this Friday to Sunday, and raises fears of new disruptions during the end of year celebrations. The controllers – also called train managers at the SNCF – decided to stop work for the whole weekend to demand better recognition of their status. “In total, more than 80% of us are on strike and more than 90% on the TGV, it’s unheard of,” assured AFP Nicolas Limon, member of the National Collective ASCT (CNA), launched in September on Facebook outside of any trade union framework and which today has nearly 3,000 members.

Kanye West suspended from Twitter for ‘inciting violence’ after posting anti-Semitic image

After Godwin point, Ye point. Increasingly isolated after his recent anti-Semitic remarks, Kanye West went a little deeper on Thursday by confessing his admiration for Hitler and the Nazis during a “what the fuck” interview with American conspiratorial presenter Alex Jones. And if that weren’t enough, the rapper got suspended from Twitter in the evening after posting an image of a swastika inside a Star of David. Elon Musk clarified that it was for “incitement to violence”.
