SMS, calls, spinning … An imaginary lover accused of harassing a woman and her husband

Permanent harassment. Since July, a woman residing in the country of Rennes has suffered real harassment from a man she had met a few months earlier during professional training. For an as yet undetermined reason, the 41-year-old man started calling her, sending her text messages to court her at the beginning of July. The latter invents a story with this woman, crossed at the beginning of the year during a three-month training course. The victim decides to block the number of the respondent.

The story could have ended there if the suspect had not continued to harass his victim’s husband. By phone, he explains to her that he is his wife’s lover and multiplies the innuendo about alleged sexual adventures. The husband is also blocking the number. Over the summer, the respondent takes the couple spinning and photographs them, posting the images on social networks, prowling around the children’s homes or schools. In two months, he would have sent more than 400 calls and texts to the plaintiffs.

Complaints filed by the couple in August led to the arrest of the suspect in a small town in the Rennes region. Already well known to the police services for acts of violence and threats, the man was taken into custody and generally admitted the facts before departmental security investigators. He was to be tried in court on prior admission of guilt (CRPC) on Wednesday.
