This is a particularly timely product recall as millions of French people prepare to celebrate Christmas Eve. According to the government website Consumption reminder, pre-sliced ​​smoked salmon from the Sas le fumoir brand – originally from Norway – has been the subject of a recall since Friday, December 22. The product, stored under vacuum, is likely to be contaminated by bacteria such as listeria monocytogenes, the agent responsible for listeriosis.

The batch of smoked salmon affected by this recall has been marketed since December 5, in a one kilo format. A batch of salmon would be affected by this recall: 11173011 (which can be found on the packaging). Its expiration date is January 1, 2024.

An illness “which can be serious”

If you have this product, it is recommended not to “consume” it, “destroy” it or, if possible, return it to the point of sale. If you have consumed this product, and you have “fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches”, the Rappel Conso website recommends consulting your doctor.
