Small revolution, Michou leaves YouTube to stream on Twitch

Michou changes creamery. The videographer to 8.38 million subscribers on YouTube changes creamery. After eight years on the famous platform, Miguel Mattioli, whose real name is, will perform all his next lives on the Twitch streaming platform, owned by Amazon. The information may seem harmless, but in the world of youtubers, it’s a real earthquake.

Throughout the month of March, the 21-year-old posted several enigmatic videos on social networks, suggesting his project, before lifting the veil on his secret on Wednesday evening.

Over a million subscribers on Twitch

And it took less than 24 hours to see the result. For his first stream, Thursday evening, Michou organized a special program “with different guests” for nearly three hours: his faithful sidekick Inoxtag (6.12 million subscribers on YouTube) – who must soon embark on the ascent de l’Everest –, Amine (2 million followers on Twitch), Theodort (2.51 million subscribers on YouTube) but also comedian Kyan Khojandi. And the videographer took part of his community to Twitch. Even before his first stream, his channel already had more than 1.1 million subscribers.

Michou has not given an explanation for the moment, but many voices have recently been raised among videographers against YouTube. Denouncing an overbidding, a pressure of numbers and a rhythm increasingly impossible to maintain, several of them have distanced themselves from the platform, such as Squeezie or Mc Fly & Carlito.

The 21-year-old star should nevertheless continue to publish his edited videos on YouTube, where he has been present since 2015. Challenges, travels, video games or even clips… Michou has become one of the most famous French videographers of his generation. And in a few years, the one who started by playing the famous game Fortnite has forged one of the largest communities on the platform. His most viewed video, the clip of his song Proud has been viewed over 58 million times.
